Our vision is to be a leading provider of expertise in agriculture and to become valuable partners on food security concerns, policy planning and strategy framework for sustainable development through agriculture in South Africa.
Our Mission
Our mission is to initiate and support micro and macro level changes in agriculture by providing expertise and solutions for training, policy planning, community agribusiness and project consulting so as to address their major agricultural concerns relating to food security, farm production, environment sustainability, rural and township employment, economic growth and human resource development.
South Africa has a unique history of land dispossession; we therefore need to unique solutions that address this unique challenge without causing a civil war. Our country also has a unique environmental heritage and blessed with nearly all types of agro-climatic zones from the extreme cold of the Free State Province to the hot, dry and humid provinces of Kwazulu-Natal, North West and Limpopo. Although considered a water scarce area, South Africa has rivers and lakes that allows all types of farming systems to be practiced and almost every crop that the world grows is grown in South Africa and the same goes with livestock management.
Realizing the enormous potential of agriculture has, Rural Development can be an answer to all problems South Africa has experienced in recent years; Food Security, Poverty, Unemployment and Crime. Agriculture can bring holistic development in South Africa but it throws unique challenges while awaiting creative and committed solutions.
We realized that indispensable need at the moment is a common platform for convergence of expertise and an specialized delivery vehicle to implement any project at grass root level. While MoUs are signed at Government levels or between the Government and donor institutions, the implementation is often far from what is envisioned. So, initiative was taken to launch The Mazista Agricultural Programme in collaboration with the Department of Rural, Environmental and Agricultural Development (READ) and DIAGEO North West Province’s renowned Food Garden Project which is playing an active and vibrant role in conceptualizing and leading the way in uniting the community, and providing knowledge led developments in food and agriculture sector. Blaque Consulting also has strong linkages with various community organizations, members of the government and corporate to mobilize top level expertise to deliver solutions to the area of Mazista while understanding their major concerns towards sustainable agriculture and food security in the whole Province.
We aim to step in for implementation of projects and programs in food and agriculture in support to government and various funding agencies. Blaque Consulting focuses on providing sustainable agriculture development through micro and macro national agriculture planning, policy perspective, organized research, extension infrastructure and market linkage services, farmers training for entrepreneurship development.
